Campbell County Republican Party Caucus

WHO

Who can participate

  • Registered Republicans in the precinct as of the date of the official caucus call (January 24, 2026) are eligible to participate and vote. Proof is based on the County Clerk’s voter list.

  • No proxy voting is allowed.

Who runs the caucus

  • A Precinct Committeeman or Committeewoman in attendance is elected to serve as Caucus Chair. If neither is present, those eligible to vote elect a chair from among those present.

  • Party officers are available to help precincts navigate questions and procedures.

WHAT

A precinct caucus is a local Republican meeting where your precinct organizes for county convention representation and party business.

What happens at caucus (typical flow)

  • Call to order, pledge/invocation, opening remarks, then caucuses convene.

Elect a Caucus Chair (as described above).

  • All attendees sign in.

  • Consider items that may come before the caucus:

    • Changes to County or State bylaws

    • Changes to Platform Planks

    • Resolutions

  • Elect Delegates and Alternates to represent your precinct at the County Convention.

    • Delegate/alternate elections may be conducted by secret ballot if anyone requests it.

After caucus

  • The Caucus Chair must certify the names of elected Delegates/Alternates and any resolutions/platform/bylaw proposals to the County Chair within five (5) days (By February 12th)

WHEN

2026 Caucus Date and Location

  • Cam-Plex Central Pavillion

  • Saturday, February 7, 1:00pm

Timing rules (set by bylaws)

  • Precinct caucuses are held not more than 25 days and not less than 10 days before the County Convention.

  • The County Chair issues the official caucus call by publishing a notice (including delegate numbers, date, time, and place) at least 10 days before caucuses.

Important: your eligibility date

  • Only Republicans registered in the precinct as of the call date (January 24, 2026) may vote, verified by the County Clerk list.

HOW

Your precinct caucus is simple, orderly, and run by your neighbors. You do not need prior experience—just show up ready to participate.

How it works

  1. Arrive & Check In

    • You will sign in with your name and precinct.

    • Eligibility is based on the County Clerk’s voter list as of the official caucus call date.

    • Bring a photo ID—it speeds up verification.

  2. Caucus Convenes

    • Your precinct gathers and elects a Caucus Chair (usually your precinct committeeman/woman, if present).

    • The Chair explains the process and keeps things moving fairly and efficiently.

  3. Discussion & Business

    • Your precinct may review:

      • Proposed resolutions

      • Platform ideas

      • Bylaw changes

    • This is your moment to speak, refine ideas, and shape what moves forward.

  4. Elect Delegates & Alternates

    • You will elect the men and women who represent your precinct at the County Convention.

    • If anyone requests it, voting can be done by secret ballot.

    • These delegates carry your voice forward.

  5. Certification & Close

    • The Caucus Chair submits your precinct’s results—delegates, alternates, and any proposals—to the County Party.

    • Within days, your work becomes part of the official party process.

This is self-government at the true grassroots level.

WHY

Because this is where the grassroots does its real work—organized, local, and official.

Why it matters

  • Caucuses select Delegates and Alternates who represent the precinct at the County Convention.

    • Who, at County Convention, will select Delegates and Alternates who represent Campbell County at the State Convention.

  • Caucuses are where your precinct can propose:

    • Resolutions (what the party stands for and what it asks leaders/officials to do)

    • Platform plank amendments (enduring principles of the state GOP)

    • Bylaw changes (how the party governs itself)

  • It ensures the convention is built from real precinct representation—registered Republicans across Campbell County.
